Located on the northern part of the island, at a road distance of 66 Km of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It has a surface area of 29,28 Km 2, at an altitude of 10 m and with a population of 5 756.

It is surrounded by the municipalities of Icod de los Vinos, El Tanque and Los Silos. It limits to the north with the Atlantic Ocean and nearing the coast the huge rock of volcanic origin called "El Roque" dominates the view.
